Here a 64bit version of SpeedSim. Its Unicode only and it will work under XP/Vista x64 only (actually I tested it under Vista x64 SP1 Business only).
You'll probably need the redistribution package from Microsoft first:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=BA9257CA-337F-4B40-8C14-157CFDFFEE4E&displaylang=en

The speed up is (on my machine) about 20-30%

If you find any bugs, please report them here Smile

And here the files:

Test with Vista Ultimate 64Bit:

SpeedSim 32Bit: Time - 2:30 min
SpeedSim 64Bit: Time - 105,86 sec = 1:46 min

nice ^_^

But one lil' Bug i found:

the number of rounds each simulation takes ain't raised any more while simulating ...

Wish for the Future: supporting Multi-Core-CPUs xD

best regarads

Yep, I know about that. The current round will probably be removed completely for the final version.

Thats planned, too Smile But it will require even more changes than 64 bit support..

Hm, I think it should work..
Maybe you did not install the redistributable package mentioned in the first post?

Hey, Just installed it on Windows 7 RC1, Build 7100 x64. Runs great, without the c++ redistributable , thanks for the hard work, as a developer myself, I know the pain that can come of converting an app to native 64 when some legacy code may not be super friendly to it Smile

I'm getting extremely different simulations from the 64b version compared to the 32b version.

I can't open the SpeedSim map after I put this file into it.
Is that because it is the new 64b version?

For example, when I sim 100 BS vs 100 Gauss (no upgrades for either side).

The 32b version returns 46.9 BS surviving after 1000 trials, with
| Attacker wins (100%) || Draw (0%) | after ~ 5 rounds

The 64b version returns 34.9 BS surviving and 0.1 gauss surviving after 1000 trials, with
| Attacker wins (94%) || Draw (6%) | after ~ 5 rounds

Thank you! I will investigate that

Working fine on mine as well, takes 1.09 seconds to run 9999 simulations.

Interestingly enough, I have a very similar setup to the guy above.

Mainboard : GA-MA770T-UD3P
Chipset : AMD RD770
Processor : AAMD Phenom(tm) II X3 720 Processor
Total amount of system memory: 4.00 GB RAM
System type: 64-bit operating system
Number of processor cores: 3
Video Card : ATI Radeon HD 4870 PCI-E 512MB DDR5
Operating System : Windows 7 Ultimate Professional 6.01.7100
DirectX : Version 10.00

As for the sound card question, I do believe mine is a motherboard chipset Very Happy
